
FLORIDA — A pedestrian was killed in an early morning crash in Manatee County on Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. 41 and Scale Avenue in Manatee County.
Troopers said a 27-year-old Sarasota woman was driving a 2008 Cadillac Escalade southbound in the right lane of U.S. 41 when the front right side of the vehicle struck a 43-year-old man from Palmetto.
According to FHP, the pedestrian was walking on the west shoulder near the white edge line at the time of the crash.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
