OHIO — The U.S. Coast Guard Southeast is asking for the public’s help as it continues investigating the disappearance of a Lenawee County woman who went missing in the Bahamas last month.
Authorities said 55-year-old Lynette Hooker was reported missing after she allegedly went overboard while on a small boat with her husband, Brian Hooker, on April 5.
According to officials, the Coast Guard recently released photos of a sailboat that was moored near the location where Hooker disappeared. Investigators are attempting to identify and locate the owner of that vessel as part of the ongoing investigation and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Brian Hooker told authorities he witnessed his wife fall from the boat and be swept out to sea. He was taken into custody in the Bahamas on April 8 but was later released. Officials confirmed that no charges have been filed in the case.
The Coast Guard said the investigation remains active and continues to seek any leads that could assist in determining what happened.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities.
