GEORGIA — One person has died following an overnight shooting and crash along South Main Street in Statesboro, according to officials.
The Bulloch County Coroner confirmed Wednesday morning that the victim died after the incident. Authorities said family members have not yet been notified.
The Statesboro Police Department is investigating the shooting, which occurred along South Main Street. Officials said the incident also involved a vehicle crash in the same area.
According to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, South Main Street is currently closed between Jones Avenue and Tillman Road, including portions near Fair Road. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area as law enforcement continues its investigation.
Authorities reported a heavy police presence near businesses along South Main Street, including areas around Azul’s and El Jalapeño.
No additional details about the circumstances of the shooting or the crash have been released at this time.
