SOUTH CAROLINA — One person is dead following an early Wednesday morning crash involving an 18-wheeler on Interstate 85 South in Anderson County, according to officials.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said it received a call around 3:30 a.m. regarding the crash near a rest area at mile marker 23. Authorities reported the collision involved a Honda passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer.
Officials confirmed that one person was killed in the crash. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
First responders remained at the scene Wednesday morning as investigators worked to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
No additional details, including the condition of any other individuals involved, have been released at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
