
TENNESSEE — Two high school students were taken into custody Tuesday after authorities investigated an alleged online threat toward a school in Coffee County.
According to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department, officials were alerted to a “potential threat” posted on social media and quickly launched an investigation. The inquiry led to two ninth-grade students being identified and taken into custody.
Authorities said the nature of the threat has not been released, citing the suspects’ ages. No additional information about possible charges has been disclosed.
The sheriff’s office stated that the investigation determined there is no ongoing threat to the public.
In a statement, officials emphasized that both the sheriff’s office and local school system take all threats seriously and remain committed to ensuring the safety of students and the community.
