WISCONSIN — A 61-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a roadway on an electric mobility scooter in Racine, according to police.
The crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. Monday, May 4, near the intersection of 18th Street and Taylor Avenue.
Authorities said the man was crossing the road on the scooter when he was hit by a vehicle. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Police said the driver, an 84-year-old man, remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
Racine police are continuing to investigate the crash and are asking anyone with information to contact their investigations unit.
The incident remains under investigation.
