TENNESSEE — A woman in her 60s was seriously injured after being attacked by three aggressive dogs Saturday evening in Robertson County, according to emergency officials.
Robertson County Emergency Medical Services said the incident occurred in the 6000 block of State Line Road. The woman was reportedly out for a walk when she was suddenly approached and attacked by the dogs, described by officials as “hostile.”
Emergency crews, including a paramedic unit, North Robertson Fire, law enforcement, and animal control, responded to the scene. The victim was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for trauma care. Her current condition has not been released.
Authorities said two of the three dogs have since been captured, but one remains on the loose in the northern part of the county. The dogs are believed to be medium-to-large Labrador mixes, mostly black with some white markings on their chests.
Officials are urging residents in the area to remain alert and report any sightings. Robertson County EMS also noted there have been reports of other recent bites in the area and raised concerns about possible rabies exposure.
“Anyone who was possibly bitten needs to be sure to seek medical attention without delay,” officials said. “Do not wait for symptoms to develop.”
Animal control and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office continue to search for the remaining dog. The animals involved will be tested to determine if rabies is present.
No additional details have been released.
