OHIO — A 42-year-old man has been charged after a delivery driver reported that he attempted to pull her into his apartment, according to police.

Authorities say Ahmed Abdelmoneim Mostafa Mohamed is facing a third-degree felony charge of abduction following the incident.

According to a police report, the incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. in the 7000 block of Market Street. The delivery driver told officers she contacted Mohamed by phone to gain entry into the building to complete her delivery.

The driver said Mohamed made comments about her appearance, calling her the “pretty young delivery driver we have around here.” Although she felt uncomfortable, she proceeded with the delivery and went to his apartment door.

While she was taking a photo to confirm the delivery, the report states Mohamed came into the hallway, continued making comments about her appearance, and invited her inside for coffee. The woman declined.

Police say Mohamed then grabbed her by the arm and attempted to pull her into the apartment. The driver told officers she was able to push him away and run from the building.

The woman reported that Mohamed followed her outside and shouted that he knew what her car looked like. She then drove to the front of the complex and called 911.

Responding officers noted a red mark on the woman’s upper arm consistent with her account. Mohamed was located a short time later and taken into custody.

He is scheduled to be arraigned May 5 in Mahoning County Area Court. The case remains under investigation.
