TENNESSEE — A manhunt is underway Friday morning in Stewart County for a man authorities say is armed and dangerous after allegedly shooting his wife.
According to the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers are searching for Craig Berry in the area of Old Paris Highway.
Investigators said the shooting happened during a domestic altercation. When deputies arrived at the scene around 1:30 a.m., Berry allegedly fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.
Authorities are urging residents to avoid the area and to call 911 immediately if they see Berry.
The condition of the woman has not been released.
The search remains ongoing as authorities continue to look for the suspect.
