
MISSOURI — A 20-year-old man was killed and two children were injured in a crash Thursday evening in St. Francois County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on Route OO at Williams Drive and involved a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Chevrolet Equinox.
Authorities said the Chevrolet was traveling southbound while the motorcycle was traveling northbound when the driver of the Chevrolet attempted to make a left turn onto Williams Drive, entering the path of the oncoming motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the front right side of the vehicle, ejecting the rider.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 20-year-old man from Farmington, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two children inside the Chevrolet — a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy — sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, and both children were properly restrained with seatbelts. The driver of the Chevrolet was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
