Three people arrested following drug bust in Kansas

KANSAS — Three people were arrested Tuesday in connection with a drug investigation in Manhattan, according to authorities.

Officials with the Riley County Police Department said the arrests followed a traffic stop around 12:30 p.m. near Irene Circle and Davis Drive on the city’s southwest side. The stop was part of an ongoing investigation into drug distribution in Riley County.

Following the stop, officers executed a search warrant in the 800 block of Colorado Street.

Police identified those arrested as Brittanie Michele Vaughn, 31, of Manhattan; JC Hunt, 53, of Grandview Plaza; and Jimmie Dale Dodson III, 25, of Manhattan.

Authorities said Vaughn was booked on charges of distribution of opiate-opium-narcotic-certain stimulant and possession of drug paraphernalia, with a bond set at $41,000.

Hunt faces charges including distribution of opiate-opium-narcotic-certain stimulant, possession of the same substance, and possession of marijuana, with bond set at $30,000. Dodson was booked on charges of possession of opiate-opium-narcotic-certain stimulant and possession of drug paraphernalia and was later released after posting a $4,000 bond.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
