LOUISIANA — A motorcyclist was killed early Monday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 49 in Rapides Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
Troopers said the crash happened just before 5:15 a.m. April 27 as 24-year-old Dillon Jenkins of Shreveport was traveling north on I-49.
Authorities said a Dodge Ram failed to slow down and rear-ended Jenkins’ motorcycle, causing him to be ejected. Investigators said Jenkins was then struck by another vehicle.
Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of the other two vehicles involved were not injured, according to state police.
The crash remains under investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop E.
