
FLORIDA — A person in a wheelchair was hospitalized after being struck by a car Monday morning in Palm Beach County, according to officials.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said crews were dispatched around 8:20 a.m. to southbound Military Trail near Melaleuca Boulevard following reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
When firefighters arrived, they found the individual in a wheelchair who had been hit by a car. The person was out of the roadway and seated in their wheelchair at the scene.
The individual was transported to a local trauma center as a trauma alert. Authorities have not released further details regarding the person’s condition.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
