NORTH CAROLINA — A Marine was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday evening in Johnston County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened in the 2400 block of Woods Crossroads Road in the Meadow community, just east of Benson.
Investigators said a 24-year-old Marine lost control of his motorcycle while navigating a curve on the two-lane road and was thrown from the bike. Authorities said he was riding with a friend at the time of the crash.
The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
