One person dead, one arrested following hit-and-run incident in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — A driver accused in a deadly hit-and-run involving a child in Beaver County is in custody, according to authorities.

Police were called to the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Rochester on Friday evening.

Details about the crash were not immediately released, but officials confirmed that a child died as a result of the incident.

Rochester Police said the suspected driver was later located and taken into custody. The suspect has not been publicly identified.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.

“The Rochester Police Department would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the child that lost his life in this horrific tragedy,” the department said in a statement posted on Facebook.
