
OHIO — A motorcyclist was killed late Thursday night after attempting to flee from a traffic stop in Clinton County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just after 10 p.m. on State Route 133 at Northview Road in Blanchester. Troopers said 27-year-old James Gleason failed to stop when an officer attempted to pull him over.
Investigators reported that Gleason was speeding and attempted to pass a pickup truck as it was turning left onto Northview Road. During the maneuver, the motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the truck.
Gleason was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
