
OHIO — A 66-year-old man died following a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Scioto County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported just before 1 p.m. on U.S. 52 West near the State Route 522 exit in Wheelersburg, troopers said in a press release.
Authorities said a vehicle traveling westbound on U.S. 52 went off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The driver, identified as Patrick Wells, 66, of Maineville, was airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment. Troopers said he later died from his injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
