Thousands without power in Louisiana

LOUISIANA — More than 2,000 customers across Louisiana are without electricity Tuesday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the most recent update, approximately 2,029 homes and businesses are without power statewide, representing about 0.09% of the more than 2.3 million customers tracked.

Ouachita Parish reported the highest number of outages, with 716 customers affected, followed closely by Caddo Parish with 712. Other areas with notable outages included Orleans Parish with 310 customers and East Baton Rouge Parish with 134. Smaller outages were also reported in Jefferson Parish and several other areas.

Among utility providers, Entergy reported the largest number of outages, with 1,297 customers without service. Southwestern Electric Power Company reported 723 outages, while other providers reported minimal impacts.

Louisiana ranked seventh in the nation for total outages and third for the percentage of customers affected at the time of the report.

Restoration efforts are ongoing.
