
TEXAS — Thousands of homes and businesses across Texas are without electricity Tuesday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the most recent update, approximately 5,824 customers statewide are affected, representing about 0.04% of the more than 15.6 million customers tracked.
Harris County reported the highest number of outages, with 3,103 customers without power. Other counties with notable outages included Bexar County with 335, Dallas County with 310, Tarrant County with 305 and Williamson County with 229.
By utility provider, CenterPoint Energy reported the largest number of outages, with 3,317 customers affected. Oncor reported 1,270 outages, while CPS Energy reported 335. American Electric Power Texas and United Cooperative Services also reported smaller numbers of outages.
Statewide, Texas ranked third in the nation for the total number of outages and sixth for the percentage of customers affected at the time of the report.
Restoration efforts are ongoing.
