PENNSYLVANIA — One driver was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Lancaster County, according to police.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 10:22 a.m. at the intersection of Marietta Avenue (Route 23) and Bridge Valley Road in West Hempfield Township. Police reported that both vehicles involved were occupied only by their drivers.

One driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity.

The second driver was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

The Lancaster County Crash Team and the coroner’s office are investigating the cause of the collision.

Marietta Avenue was closed in both directions between Raintree Road and Jasmine Place for an extended period while crews worked at the scene. The roadway has since reopened.

The investigation remains ongoing.
