NORTH CAROLINA — A long-term investigation into alleged drug and alcohol violations at a Greensboro cocktail bar has resulted in more than 150 criminal charges, according to authorities.
The North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE), with assistance from the Greensboro Police Department, executed four search warrants Sunday morning as part of the investigation tied to multiple businesses in the city.
Officials said the investigation began in fall 2025 after receiving complaints involving Pura Vida Cocktail Bar and Restaurant, located at 221 S. Elm St. Investigators said they uncovered evidence that employees and patrons were allegedly involved in the sale and trafficking of illegal drugs during business operations and at other locations.
During the investigation, agents seized more than 172 grams of cocaine, more than 25 grams of methamphetamine, two firearms, more than $10,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia and non-tax-paid alcohol.
Authorities also identified alleged illegal alcohol sales at a separate location on Cedar Park Road that was reportedly operating without proper ABC permits.
More than a dozen individuals connected to the businesses and related locations are facing charges, including counts of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver controlled substances, maintaining a business for drug activity, and various alcohol-related violations.
ALE officials said additional search warrants were executed at homes in Greensboro linked to the investigation.
A violation report will be submitted to the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission, which could result in administrative action, including suspension or revocation of permits.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said additional charges are expected.
