FLORIDA — A woman was found dead Sunday morning near a highway overpass in Plant City, prompting an active investigation by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies, a caller reported discovering an unresponsive woman near Paul Buchman Highway and Tollar Road. When authorities arrived, they found the woman deceased near a bridge in the area.
Investigators said the woman had suffered upper body trauma. She was located in what officials described as a known homeless encampment near the highway overpass.
The identity of the woman has not been released as authorities work to notify next of kin.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the case remains an active investigation, and additional details will be released as they become available.
