FLORIDA — One person is dead after a plane crash early Sunday morning in Pasco County, according to authorities.
Pasco County Fire Rescue said the crash occurred in the area of Aldus Drive in Land O’ Lakes. Emergency crews responded to the scene and confirmed that at least one person died as a result of the incident.
Officials said a fire sparked by the crash has since been extinguished. A nearby home was also damaged, though the extent of the damage has not been fully detailed.
Video from a neighbor’s Ring camera showed smoke billowing from the home following the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are en route to the scene and will lead the investigation into what caused the crash.
The incident remains under investigation, and additional details have not yet been released.
