INDIANA — A death investigation is underway after a body was pulled from a body of water on the north side of Indianapolis Saturday afternoon, according to authorities.
Firefighters with the Pike Township Fire Department responded around 1:48 p.m. to the 8800 block of Colby Boulevard, near 86th Street and Michigan Road, after receiving reports that a body may have been seen in the water.
Crews recovered a body from the water. The remains were turned over to the Marion County Coroner’s Office, which will determine the cause and manner of death following an autopsy.
Officials have not released the identity of the individual, and the person’s age and gender have not yet been confirmed.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say additional information will be released as it becomes available.
