
NORTH CAROLINA — Nearly 3,000 homes and businesses across North Carolina are currently without power Thursday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 2,950 customers are without electricity statewide out of more than 5.8 million tracked customers, representing about 0.05% of the state.
Mecklenburg County is reporting the highest number of outages, with 1,844 customers currently without power. Guilford County follows with 527 outages. Other counties reporting outages include Durham County with 87, Polk County with 83 and Henderson County with 40.
By utility provider, Duke Energy reports the largest number of outages, with 2,849 customers currently without service. Smaller numbers are reported by Dominion Energy and other regional providers.
North Carolina currently has the tenth-highest number of outages in the United States.
Restoration efforts are ongoing, though no estimated timeline for full service restoration has been provided.
