Three people arrested following drug bust in Mississippi

MISSISSIPPI — Three people have been arrested on felony charges following separate traffic stops in Gluckstadt, according to police.

The Gluckstadt Police Department said Debroski Rushing, James Brown and Ben Commings were all taken into custody after being pulled over during routine traffic stops earlier this week.

Authorities said all three suspects are facing firearm-related charges. Rushing and Brown were each charged with being felons in possession of firearms. Brown and Commings are also facing drug-related charges.

According to police, Rushing was arrested April 13 during a traffic stop along Interstate 55 near Exit 112. Brown was arrested April 14 during a stop on Old Jackson Road near Church Road. Commings was arrested during a separate stop at Weisenberger Road and Parkway East.

Officials released additional charges for each suspect. Rushing is charged with possession of a stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, improper equipment, driving with a suspended license, no insurance and having an open container.

Brown faces charges including felon in possession of a firearm, trafficking while in possession of a firearm, tint violation, seatbelt violation and tampering with evidence.

Commings is charged with trafficking a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm, two counts of possession with intent to distribute with a firearm and illegal tint.

Police said the arrests are the result of ongoing enforcement efforts.

The investigation remains ongoing.
