KENTUCKY — A man was killed and a woman was injured following a late-night shooting in downtown Louisville, according to police.
The Louisville Metro Police Department said officers were dispatched around 11:30 p.m. to the 800 block of South 4th Street on a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man inside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said officers rendered first aid until emergency medical crews arrived. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said a woman who was also inside the residence was assaulted during the incident. She was transported to UofL Hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
The Louisville Metro Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is leading the investigation. Detectives are working to determine what led up to the incident and whether there is any relationship between the two victims.
Police said there are no suspects at this time.
