LOUISIANA — One person was found with a gunshot wound Thursday morning along Byron Avenue, according to Baton Rouge Police Department.
A spokesperson said officers were initially called to reports of a shooting near Airline Highway around 7:19 a.m.
Shortly after arriving in the area, officers located a victim who had been shot along Byron Avenue, just off Airline Highway.
The injured individual was transported to a hospital for treatment. Their condition has not been released.
Detectives with the Baton Rouge Police Department are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No additional information has been provided at this time.
