ARIZONA — Officials with the Arizona Department of Public Safety are investigating a deadly crash that occurred early Thursday morning along Interstate 17 in Phoenix.
Authorities said the crash happened in the northbound lanes near Union Hills Drive. Initial reports indicate a collision in the area resulted in injuries, and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
As a result of the crash, northbound lanes of I-17 have been shut down while crews continue their investigation. Drivers are being advised to seek alternate routes.
The incident remains under investigation.
