PENNSYLVANIA — A death investigation is underway after a woman was found dead at a home in Lebanon County on Tuesday afternoon, according to officials.
The incident occurred along the 300 block of Timber Lane in South Londonderry Township. The Lebanon County Coroner’s Office said it responded to the home around 3:30 p.m. following a well-being check conducted by South Londonderry Township police.
A female resident of the home was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released pending notification of family members.
Officials said the cause and manner of death remain under investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for April 16.
Authorities said hazmat teams are sometimes called to assist the coroner when a body is in a state of decomposition, though they did not comment specifically on this case.
The coroner’s office has since left the scene, but one police officer remained at the home Wednesday morning.
Authorities said more information will be released as the investigation continues.
