PENNSYLVANIA — A New York man is wanted in connection with a credit card fraud investigation in Lancaster County involving more than $3,000, according to police.
The Manheim Township Police Department said 31-year-old Alan-Ado Germain, of Queens, is facing multiple charges after victims reported fraudulent transactions on their credit cards despite still having the cards in their possession and not being in New York at the time of the purchases.
Investigators said the fraudulent transactions occurred between March 20 and March 21, resulting in a total loss of $3,139.03.
Police said receipts and surveillance video linked Germain to the purchases, and a New York Department of Motor Vehicles photo matched the suspect seen in the footage.
According to investigators, items purchased fraudulently on March 26 were later returned for gift cards, which were then redeemed on March 27 and April 2.
Authorities allege Germain used the victims’ credit card information by loading the data onto his phone and using a tap-to-pay function to complete the transactions.
Police have issued a warrant for Germain’s arrest and have listed him as “most wanted” on charges including dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, identity theft, theft by unlawful taking, criminal use of a communication facility and access device fraud.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Manheim Township Police Department or submit a tip online.
The investigation remains ongoing.
