
WISCONSIN — More than 35,000 customers across Wisconsin are without power Tuesday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the most recent update, 35,442 homes and businesses are affected statewide, representing about 1.21% of the roughly 2.9 million customers tracked. Wisconsin currently ranks first in the nation for both the total number of outages and the percentage of customers impacted.
Waukesha County reported the highest number of outages, with 14,162 customers without power, accounting for more than 13% of its tracked customers.
Milwaukee County followed with 6,756 outages, while Dane County reported 5,675 customers without electricity. Jefferson and Walworth counties also saw significant impacts, with more than 2,600 outages each.
Among utility providers, We Energies reported the largest number of outages, with 27,905 customers affected, or about 2.63% of its service area. Alliant Energy and Madison Gas & Electric also reported thousands of outages.
The cause of the outages are most likely due to severe storms. Utility crews are working to restore service.
