GEORGIA — A driver was killed in a crash on Deans Bridge Road in Blythe late Monday night, according to authorities.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office said the crash occurred around 11:31 p.m. in the 5000 block of Deans Bridge Road near Smith Road.
Officials said the driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was then struck by another vehicle traveling on Deans Bridge Road.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:37 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.
The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The crash led to lane closures into Tuesday morning. As of about 7:30 a.m., one lane remained blocked, and the Georgia Department of Transportation estimated the roadway would fully reopen around 8:45 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
