Two people dead following vehicle crash in Alabama

ALABAMA — Two people were killed Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Cullman County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. on April 12 along Alabama 91 near Cullman County Road 649, approximately six miles east of Holly Pond.

Authorities said an 84-year-old man from Arab was driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue when it was struck by a 2011 Peterbilt tractor-trailer.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as Oneal Kelley, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle, 79-year-old Martha Kelley of Arab, was critically injured in the crash and transported to Cullman Regional Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the crash. No additional details have been released.
