MISSISSIPPI — A review of school district calendars across Mississippi shows that very few schools will be closed during the week of April 6 through April 10, 2026, with most districts having already completed spring break earlier in March.
Among the districts with confirmed closures next week:
- Meridian Public School District lists Monday, April 6 as part of its Easter break, with all schools and offices closed that day.
- Jackson Public School District also shows April 3–6 as Easter break, meaning students are not in class on Monday, April 6 before returning later in the week.
- DeSoto County Schools confirms April 6 as an Easter holiday, resulting in no school for students on that day.
Most other Mississippi districts scheduled spring break for mid-March (commonly March 9–13 or March 16–20) and are back in session by April.
Overall, closures in Mississippi during April 6–10 are limited to single-day holidays—primarily Monday, April 6 for Easter—rather than full-week spring break closures, with students in most districts attending classes for the remainder of the week.
