MISSISSIPPI — One person was injured in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Verona, according to police.
Verona Police Chief Marsenio Nunn said the incident occurred in the area of the Tall Oaks Apartments along Mattox Road.
Authorities said the victim was shot in the thigh and is expected to recover.
Police detained two individuals for questioning following the shooting.
No additional details have been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
