MISSISSIPPI — Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday in Yazoo City, according to the Yazoo County coroner.
Yazoo County Coroner Rickey Shivers said authorities responded to the crash on March 2, 2026, at the intersection of Grand Avenue and 7th Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles involved in the crash, with one of them lying on its side.
Emergency responders transported one passenger to Baptist Medical Center Yazoo for treatment.
Shivers said two people were pronounced dead at the scene. They were identified as Jordan Patterson, 23, and Michael Cole, 27. According to the coroner, Cole had been ejected from one of the vehicles during the crash.
The driver of the second vehicle was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by Yazoo City police.
