MISSISSIPPI — A woman has been arrested and a man remains in critical condition following a stabbing Monday night in Covington County.
According to the Covington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on William Warren Road around 7 p.m. after receiving reports of an altercation between a man and a woman.
Investigators said the dispute escalated, and the woman allegedly stabbed the man multiple times with a knife.
The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Lydia Danielle Ezell, was arrested shortly afterward at a home down the road from the scene.
The victim was airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he is listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
Ezell has been charged with one count of aggravated assault. Her first court appearance is pending.
