MISSISSIPPI — Jackson police are investigating a fatal shooting after a man was found dead in the middle of a city street early Monday morning.
According to the Jackson Police Department, officers were dispatched just before 12:45 a.m. on Feb. 9, 2026, to the 3000 block of Brown Street.
Detective Tommie Brown said the victim, who has not been identified, was found lying in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said no suspect information was immediately available.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation, and no arrests have been announced.
