
MISSISSIPPI — One man was killed and three other people, including a one-year-old child, were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening in Jones County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 6, 2026, on U.S. 11. Troopers said a 2019 Lincoln MKC was traveling south on the highway when it collided with a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling north.
The driver of the Lincoln MKC, identified as 82-year-old Douglas J. Pertuit of Louin, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
The three occupants of the Chevrolet Tahoe, including a one-year-old child, were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
