MISSISSIPPI — Two people were arrested on drug charges following the execution of a search warrant in Adams County, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Travis Patten said the sheriff’s office NARC Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Watts Avenue in The Heights on Jan. 22, 2026, shortly before 5:30 p.m.

During the search, deputies arrested Jorke McMurtry, 27, and Nakhita Davis, 21. Authorities said agents seized crack cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, suspected counterfeit pills, and a handgun from the home.

Both McMurtry and Davis were charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana. Each charge includes firearm enhancements. Sheriff Patten said the charges also carry church zone enhancements because the residence is located within the legally specified distance of a church.

During their initial appearances in Justice Court, McMurtry’s bond was set at $750,000, while Davis’ bond was set at $450,000. Davis was released on house arrest due to documented medical reasons, while McMurtry remains in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
