FLORIDA — An Orlando man was killed Thursday night after being struck by a car while riding an electric bicycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred as a sedan driven by a 40-year-old Orlando man was traveling eastbound on Oak Ridge Road. The front end of the vehicle struck the electric bike, authorities said. The driver of the sedan was not injured and remained at the scene following the crash.
The rider of the electric bike, identified as a 44-year-old man from Orlando, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
