MISSISSIPPI — A crash involving an 18-wheeler left one person injured Wednesday afternoon in Lowndes County, according to authorities.
The collision occurred near the intersection of Airport Road and John Bell Way, an area close to the entrance of Steel Dynamics and the Golden Triangle Regional Airport. Trooper Clay Flake with the Mississippi Highway Patrol confirmed the crash.
Officials said the wreck involved an 18-wheeler and a passenger vehicle. One person was injured in the crash, with injuries described as moderate. No additional details were immediately released regarding the cause of the crash or whether any other individuals were involved.
The incident caused activity in the area as emergency crews responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
