MISSISSIPPI — Two drivers were killed following a crash Wednesday afternoon in Marion County.
The crash occurred on Highway 586 just before 3:30 p.m. on January 14, 2026, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a 1993 Buick Roadmaster driven by Charles L. Jackson, 58, of Foxworth, was traveling westbound when it collided with a 2024 Genesis passenger car driven by Evelyn M. McGowan, 72, of Jayess.
Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene. McGowan was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
