MISSISSIPPI — Schools in the West Marion area will dismiss early Monday due to a water outage affecting multiple campuses, district officials announced.
According to school officials, a water outage from the Foxworth Water Association will leave several schools without water for the entire day. As a result, West Marion School District officials said West Marion Primary School, West Marion Middle School, and West Marion High School will dismiss students at 10 a.m.
District leaders said the decision was made to ensure the health and safety of students and staff, as the affected schools will not have running water available throughout the day.
Officials emphasized that no other schools in the district will be impacted by the outage and all other campuses will continue operating on a normal schedule.
Parents and guardians of students at the affected schools were advised to make arrangements for early pickup.
