MISSISSIPPI — Deputies in Yazoo County are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred around midday Saturday.
According to the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened on Longwood Cove at approximately noon on January 3, 2026. Authorities said a man was shot and transported to Baptist Hospital for treatment.
The victim was identified as 33-year-old Cornelius Stuckey. Officials said Stuckey was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Sheriff’s officials confirmed that two suspects were taken into custody in connection with the shooting. They are currently being held at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility. The suspects have not yet been identified, and no charges have been announced.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
