OHIO — A lucky Ohio Lottery player has claimed a life-changing prize after purchasing a winning scratch-off ticket in Sandusky County.

The winning ticket came from the Ohio Lottery Monopoly 200X Scratch-Off, a $30 game offering a top prize of $200,000 a year for 25 years. The prize, valued at $5 million, was claimed by Trust No. 352026, represented by attorney Nathan D. Benner.

The trust opted to take the lump sum payout of $2.5 million instead of annual payments. After mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 26.75%, the final payout amounts to $1,831,250.

The winning ticket was sold at Fraternal Order of Eagles AERIE #2291.

According to the Ohio Lottery, the overall odds of winning a prize in the Monopoly 200X Scratch-Off game are 1 in 3.35. As of April 21, two top prizes remain unclaimed.

Since its inception in 1974, the Ohio Lottery reports contributing more than $34 billion to education across the state.
