TEXAS — A Texas Lottery player is celebrating after purchasing a Powerball ticket worth $150,000 in Monday night’s drawing, which featured an estimated jackpot of $225 million.
The winning numbers drawn on June 8 were 3, 24, 34, 43 and 49, with Powerball 20. The Power Play multiplier was 3x. At the time of the drawing, the jackpot carried an estimated annuity value of $225 million and a cash option of approximately $100.4 million.
The Texas-winning ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball. That combination typically awards a $50,000 prize, but because the ticket included the Power Play option and the 3x multiplier was drawn, the prize increased to $150,000.
No jackpot-winning ticket was immediately reported from Monday’s drawing, allowing the grand prize to continue growing for the next drawing.
Lottery officials had not yet released details about where the $150,000 winning ticket was sold in Texas or whether the prize has been claimed.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Players select five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. The optional Power Play feature can multiply most non-jackpot prizes, providing players with the opportunity to increase their winnings.
Lottery officials encourage players to check their tickets carefully and sign the back of any winning ticket before claiming a prize.
With no jackpot winner announced, the Powerball jackpot is expected to increase for the next drawing as players across the country continue chasing the game’s top prize.
