OHIO — A Clark County man is celebrating a six-figure Ohio Lottery win after hitting a progressive jackpot while playing an EZPLAY game at a Madison County business.
According to the Ohio Lottery, the man, who is from the village of Charleston in Clark County, was playing KENO at Crown Sports Lounge, located at 289 Lafayette St. in London, when he decided to play the Lucky 10’s EZPLAY game.
After inserting $10 into the machine, he said it suddenly began announcing, “Jackpot! Jackpot!” At first, he said he didn’t understand what was happening. Once he realized he had won the progressive jackpot worth $125,544, he said he was in shock.
The winner said he plans to deposit the money into the bank. After 26.75% in combined federal and state taxes, he will receive $91,960.98.
Lucky 10’s is one of the Ohio Lottery’s EZPLAY games, which are instant-play style games generated through lottery terminals. In the $10 Lucky 10’s game, players count the number of “10” symbols in the play area. Finding 15 “10” symbols wins 50% of the total jackpot. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 3.62.
Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $34 billion to education across the state.
