MICHIGAN — A northern Michigan couple’s daily tradition of buying a Club Keno ticket at their own party store has resulted in a $100,000 lottery prize.
Patricia Lange, 77, and her husband, owners of Pat & Gary’s Party Store on Straits Highway in Indian River, told Michigan Lottery officials they make it a habit to purchase one Club Keno ticket from their store each day.
“We are the owners of the party store, so every day we buy a Club Keno ticket while we’re there,” Lange said. “My husband bought this ticket and saw we’d won big while he was watching the drawings. He came home and woke me up, so I knew it must be important because he never wakes me up. When he told me we’d just won $100,000 on Club Keno, I couldn’t believe it! We were thrilled.”
The winning ticket matched nine of the 20 Club Keno numbers drawn in draw 2606168 on May 25, earning a $50,000 prize. The total winnings were doubled to $100,000 because the ticket included the Kicker option.
Lange said the couple plans to use the prize money to pay bills and restock their party store ahead of the busy summer season.
